"We all make the world."
--Xeko proverb
Xeko Agents know that our planet is an interconnected wonder; its air, water, land, plants, animals, and human-made things all collaborate to support every organism on Earth. What occurs in one part of the world impacts the balance and health of our entire planet.
With just one Earth, we're all part of the same team!
As a Xeko Agent has probably already told you, a robust and thriving environment is crucial to our collective health and happiness. Even the smallest actions can add up to make a BIG difference when we all work together.
Here are just a few ways you can help:
- Practice the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.
- Help Xeko recycle and earn Green Stars by recycling Xeko booster packs.
- Learn about hotspots and Xeko's conservation partner, Conservation International.
- See how Xeko eats its own green food.
- Get involved with local clubs and learn more about sustainable living.
Practice the Three Rs
There are many steps you can take to safeguard the future of our planet, and the three Rs are an excellent place to start.
- Reduce: Find new ways to avoid making trash in the first place! For example, when shopping, don't take bags for small items you'll consume right away, like soda or gum. When you must use a shopping bag, bring your own reusable cloth bag. Use sponges instead of paper towels. Bring your own coffee mug. Use the library instead of buying books. How many more can you think of?
- Reuse: Find new uses for items that you'd throw away or even recycle. Donate used magazines to hospitals and community centers. Use junk mail as note paper (or take yourself off lists to reduce how much you receive). Repurpose plastic and glass containers as storage containers. Reuse paper and plastic bags as garbage bags. Donate usable items instead of throwing them away. Learn how you can compost food scraps and yard waste. Be imaginative!
- Recycle: Recycling can be easy with just a little preparation. Set aside bins specifically for recycling, and put them in a convenient place. Divvy up the duties among family members to foster a common sense of purpose and responsibility. Post a list of commonly recycled materials. Educate yourself in the recycling rules of your community. Make it easy on yourself!
In addition, there are many ways to go beyond the three Rs, such as conserving water and electricity and using non-toxic cleaners--just to name a few. Put your Xeko Agent investigative powers to the test and see how many other ways you can find to make a difference!

At Xeko, We Eat Our Own Green Food!
Xeko game materials and packaging are made from recycled and recyclable materials. Xeko trading cards are printed using eco-friendly inks, which are kinder to the environment. Xeko Pals plush toys are made from sustainable materials such as certified organic cotton and soy-based fabric, and they're stuffed with soy filling instead of the usual polyester found in most stuffed animals. We keep our Xeko game packaging to a minimum, and even our promotional items like posters and postcards are made from recycled materials.
By printing Xeko trading cards on New Leaf(TM) recycled paper, we've saved 218 fully grown trees and almost 48,000 gallons of water, and kept nearly 18,000 pounds of additional greenhouses gases out of the Earth's atmosphere. And that's just from the first four Xeko Missions alone!
We wrap our Xeko booster pack displays in EarthFirst(R) PLA film made from plant-based Ingeo(TM) polymer--unlike the usual plastic shrink wrap, which is made from petrochemical-based film. Despite our green credentials--or because of them!--we don't rest on our laurels: Xeko HQ offers its vast knowledge and resources to help us continually improve our methods and get even greener in everything we do.
If every person and every company were to choose recycled, recyclable, and sustainably made products--and if we all reduced the amount of stuff we consume in the first place--just think how much better off our planet would be!
